Well, I don't know about that story, but they sure like to recycle their news stories. Seems like they have it on a neverending loop...

They have, numerous times.

This is not a "breaking development". In addition to a few other former Iraqi scientists, Al-Shahristani have been saying this since his escape from Iraq in 1991. He is saying nothing different than he has multiple times in multiple news stories since 1991.

IOW, Fox News is rehashing old news.

He said his knowledge of the current state of Iraq's weapons programs is based on information he received from contacts who were also involved in Saddam's arms programs but have since fled the country.

Maybe because this guy hasn't been in Iraq in 12 years, and his information comes from other people who aren't even in Iraq?

CNN is liberal?
Actually yeah that's the common concensus down there in the States right?
I find that absurd but that's not what I'm hear to say ..

why doesn't CNN (or any major U.S based media conglomerate) report on the economic and political upheaval that is south america? You'd think it's important. What about the suicide bombers in Sri Lanka?
It's not a liberal bias, it's a capitalist (synonym for good, unquestioned) bias and mostly it's an american bias. I really liked the little thing they had about Syria last night, the thing about "please don't bomb iraq, bombs are bad and they kill children" .. all the while showing some cobblestone village with people riding around on camels .. guess what? All that does is reinforce the "camelfvcker" and "sandmonkey" ideology that is part of the driving factor of this war. "LOOK AT HOW DIFFERENT THEY ARE!!! THEY RIDE CAMELS!!!" Obviously though this point isn't worth arguing here, words like hegemony, ideology and a-priori don't really mean much around here.
The medium is the message and all that junk.

Well I just listened to one of Saddams head nuclear developement guys who left Iraq in 98 on the radio yesterday.
There is no hope for Iraq to have a nuclear weapon.
Basically the interview went like this.
Iraq started their nuclear program in earnest right after Isreal bombed their nuclear reactor and THAT was the primary reason for the big push.
By the time the first gulf war they had about 5000 people working on the bomb project , at which time he figured they were about 20% of the way there but with only a few grams of weapons grade uranium when you need Kilograms of the stuff.
The US bombed about half of the facilities needed and weapons inspectors blew up the other half in the following years of inspections.
After war he basically said that the scientific core got thrown to the wind rebuilding oilfeilds, electrical infastructure and so on.
He had a good story as how he escpaed Iraq too but much to long to post here.
Its his estimate they have a 0% chance of developing a nuclear bomb and delivery system.

But wait - that wasn't on FOX NEWS! You've been brainwashed! Our news outlets in the states are becoming more and more European. Papers there don't hide their affiliations there, pretending to be "fair and balanced" or whatever. Objective news is becoming a lost art.

An excellent news source that often has different takes on world events is BBC. I read them daily, and they often have stories that don't appear prominently in US media outlets.
