they watch discs from a chinese video store... americanized asians aren't all that into their culture otherwise... a modern asian family on tv would be pretty much the same as a white family. I can't even think of ways they could make it interesting if that's the theme they're going for.

Why it's not in the USA probably has to do with their total population.

Because all the anime, movies, and video games from over there aren't enough. Besides, an "Asian" sit-com would be laughably bad, just like every other ethnic comedy out there. It's better just to import stuff. Actually, a lot of it is better than American TV these days.

There are, a lot of them. There used to be two Asian shows called AznTV and Imaginasian in the bay area, but got cancelled because they had low ratings.
