How come Applecare Plus isn't showing for my phone

Okay, so I bought the 4S last month but haven't activated it, thinking of selling or maybe putting it on the wife's account.

I bought directly from the Verizon store, went to the Apple Store yesterday to get Applecare Plus. Made the Genius Bar appointment etc, got in, he checked out the phone, went through the process (which seemed extremely cumbersome juggling an iPad and iPhone and wiping info to the point where we got to enter information twice). Anyways, he said it was all done, charged the card, had the receipt emailed to me, and I left.

Checked this evening and the phone shows the standard warranty. Don't see any way to check hardware under Apple ID info. Looking at how to "register Applecare plan" etc I never received anything other than the receipt. I am definitely unfamiliar with the Apple world so not sure of anything at this point.

What's going on??

Also, I guess I am wondering if anyone else has bought the coverage within the 30 day window like this, and how did it work? Should I just give it a couple more days to show up? Head back to the store?

I suspect that's your problem. You might need to reverify with Apple after you activate the phone.

Hmm...they didn't say anything about it. I guess it was activated in the sense of being on my account (for about 5 minutes) when I initially purchased it. I guess I will try out the phone support and see what they can tell me (obviously hard to sell the AC+ as a perk when you can't verify it).

Plus it seems I should have some sort of warranty card or something but the online FAQ's are all over the place so I guess I will call in tomorrow. Thanks for the info

Don't worry, it takes up to a week to show on the support web page for Apple. You also get mailed the warranty information. It took 5 days to get that for my mothers iPad, which I added APP+ to after POS.

My dad registered his AppleCare a month ago and it still haven't shown up on his account (though if you call, Apple verifies it is under AppleCare). The interesting thing is it doesn't show up on GSX yet, but somewhere in Apple's systems it is registered.

So I wouldn't be too worried.

Just an update for anyone else wondering later on down the road, it does show now, took 4 days to show online. I expect to get the mailing soon, will only update again if I don't. Thanks again.
