How come a car forum on AT is such a bad idea?

I've heard people mention wanting a car forum so often on this forum, yet it always seems like "oh, no way... we can't have that!" or "they'd never add it.. OBVIOUSLY!". Why? What's the big deal? The demand seems to be there, and there are always a ton of car threads here... wouldn't it be good to have a seperate forum for that? I know it's a computer board, but the forum users do NOT consist of purely computer "geek" flavor people. There are people of all kinds of different backgrounds, ages, ethnicities, professions, etc.. it's practically "you name it, we have it" here. So, we seem to have the people who want it... how come it doesn't happen? I know there are a lot of car forums out there already.. but a lot of members would appreciate having one right here. 🙂
