I live on the north shore of Lake Superior, the westernmost of the 5 Great Lakes. We're in the middle of a forecast month of cold. Tonight's forecast low is -32C; that's 25 Below Fahrenheit. Tomorrow will rise to -19C, or 2 Below F. This is colder than normal - averages are about 15 Celsius degrees (27 Fahrenheit degrees) warmer than that. I won't bother with "Wind Chill" effect - it is real, but it's a bit like masochistic bragging.
