How close to the SSD 'Danger Zone' am I?

I installed a 64GB Agility3 last year, thinking that was a huge amount of space... but not anymore.

Of 55.7GB total, I'm down to 11.9GB free... That's still about 20%, but how far can I go before I run the risk of stability or utilization problems with a full drive and the SandForce controller?

A 256GB Plextor is on the Christmas List... but I still have to sneak it past SWMBO and get a fresh Win7 install on it... probably January.

I'm thinking you could maybe use the SSD as a cache drive for one of the Hitachi 500GB drives?

IMO, it needs at least 15% free to do the garbage collection it does.

Do you notice any slowdowns? If not I wouldn't worry about it. The worst thing that should happen is it will get slow.

Being an OS drive the data will be compressible, so you should have more free NAND anyways.
