How close can I cut it with a VGA heatsink and a soundcard?

Say the fan ends up being mere centimeters away from the soundcard. Is that a cooling problem?

Only one way to find out for sure Try it.

Rule of thumb: The sucshion side of the fan should not be closer than the depth of the fan
to any flat surface. So.......25mm would be OK...Maybe.
