ran across this video on youtube of a girl licking literally every single thing in an extended stay hotel room.

granted, she goes a bit over the line and [SPOILER ALERT] licks the inside of a freakin' toilet, but it just leads me to ask - has there been any advances in clean hotels since the 90s when every news station in the country took a black light to their local hotel? i'd assume they'd have taken more steps to keep hotel rooms clean after all that. anyone have any horror stories?

Any hotels I've stayed at have been decent (Days Inn, Super 8, etc).

I stayed at an extended stay place in Houston for a couple months and the only problem with it was the cockroach in the bathroom during the last week of my stay. The cleaning ladies apparently left it alone, haha.

I guess the answer to your question would be:

has there been any advances in clean hotels since the 90s when every news station in the country took a black light to their local hotel?

Not really, although some hotels/chains may try harder than others. For the most part, you're still dealing with low-pay housekeepers who really don't give a shit.
