How circular are AT reposts?

Random thought. Obviously most of the time, reposts in short sequence are from a story getting posted on a major news site (digg/slashdot/cnn etc) but how often are these internet memes 'seeded' by AT.

i.e.

Poster A finds a story, post it on AT.
Poster B sends it to his friends via IM / E-mail
Poster C gets it from the chain, reposts it on AT

rinse, repeat.


Thoughts?
