How cheap are you?

Assuming your finances are in decent order (retirement, savings, etc..) and you have a reasonable amount of disposable income.

The wife says I can be a bit cheap. For instance, I take all the table scraps on everyone's plate after dinner and scrape them all into a bowl and put in it the fridge. In the morning I place all that leftover food into a blender with some milk and a bit of coffee for some good ol'homemade West Virginia style Crapachino for the kids. Oh yes, before I forget. You only need to run the blender for about two minutes or for three or four minutes if you're grinding any chicken bones.

this thread isn't attracting too much action 😕 which is a shame considering all the effort the OP has gone to with his poll 😛

when finances are available, i will spend small but reasonable amounts on goods/entertainment. otherwise, it's savings for us.

I'm very much penny wise, pound foolish. I'll spend months eating ramen and rice at home, only to blow all my money on a big ticket impulse buy that I really don't need.

I save £££ and I spend £££. I save a lot as I don't buy random stuff. The stuff I do buy tends to be more pricey then what the Mr Joe consumer would buy though. I don't mind paying for quality if I intend to use the produce a lot (most of the stuff I buy). I just save that bit longer for it 😛

I save by not buying stuff I don't need 🙂

Not overly cheap. I like to think that I'm rational, but I'm lying to myself. You know, how cheap you are in reality depends on how much you make and what the sources of your money are. Personally I've never seen a person with sufficient money supply to buy cheap things.
