How cheap are you?

I'm not cheap, but my friend is. He lent me $500 one time, and later says "Hey, where's my $500?" I told him quit being so cheap.

I spend as little as I have to, which usually isn't the cheapest avaliable i.e. I always buy Antec power supplies because in my opinion for my production computer that's as low in quality as I'm willing to go, but you'll probably never find me in a new car because I just can't justify the fact that a certified used one is MUCH cheaper and still gets me from A to B in style.

I'm very cheap... I always get as much for my dollar as I can... That doesn't mean I'll skimp on quality - I research major purchases carefully. Example, for the home theater, I got a system from Onkyo, rather than some crap sold at WalMart. Nonetheless, I called EVERY authorized online retailer to find the best shipped price to me... and I waited til the dealer with the best price also had a sale (free shipping and a decent % off.)

I'm not sure I really fit into any of your categories.... I think rather than calling myself "cheap", thrifty may be a better word.

dude, $500 is a lot of money. And LENDING implies repayment.

I know some that are very cheap even if they have alot to spend. Those are the kind that leech on society and are very selfisn IMHO!@# but those who don't have much or very little, it is understandable...

Im contemplating whether or not a Sams Club $1.50 Hot Dog & Drink is worth it at the moment... I think i classify as cheap 😀

hahahaha. jack handy dude

i only spend on stuff i really care about : audio/computer equipment, anime cd/dvd/wallpapers and whatnot, maybe some clothing. food is one thing i try to spend least money possible, cant justify shelling out $$$ on something that would go to the crapper in few hours...

i am a little above the avg consumer i think. when i make purchases, i try to buy something that will last me a long time, and that usually costs a bit more. cost is always an issue but i have no problem buying expensive things. Besides, i personally think being cheap is not really determined by what you buy, but how you act when it comes to money in group situations. I know a guy that complained about paying 50 cents more than he should have at a group dinner. wtf
