How change View Source editor for IE?

conjur

No Lifer
I've found a few things via Google re: running a .REG file to set the default HTML editor and just went thru the whole registry looking for notepad.exe and replacing it with cedt.exe for those I wanted to change but still nothing.

I click on View Source on a page and STILL get Notepad!

ARGH!!

Any ideers?

BTW, IE 6 SP1 on W2K

Already saw that page but not sure if it's even valid since I'm running W2K.

I've edited the file types I could think of, set the registry entries and I even see Crimson Editor in the Default Editor in IE...Tools...Options...Programs but still Notepad opens when I click View...Source.

🙁

The MS Support page method should still work. You may have to delete the notepad option that's already there. May be worth a quick logout/login or a reboot to make sure the change sticks.
