How cars are scanned into Gran Turismo

It's like in the movie "The Incredibles." When the robot flying thingy goes into the cave and scans everything with a ray that picks up all kinds of surface changes. Pretty amazing how far technology has come.

I will be picking up my copy of GT5 in 2010 or so when the price of the PS3 has come down. That game will be amazing because it will have the long-promised damage physics and it is rumored to have more exotics such as Ferrari's and the like.
