if you are truly in love with someone? This came up in my mind after reading a subject "I wish I was in love".

Some people often confuse lust for love. Or "puppy dog love" for real love.

This question has been in my mind ever since one of my female friends asked me if I loved her.

I answered back that I didn't know what love was.

"puppy dog" love as you put it to me, is the attaction portion of the relationship, the very begining if you will, as the relationship grows and matures it moves past just the attraction and into deep caring and understanding of the other person, thats what i would consider "true" love....
