Hi, for 2 months now, I built my own system and it was running fine.

Yesterday, I decided to neaten up my case, so I did the cable sleeving for my PSU and it looks really clean and nice.

I also added a window applique and dual blue cold cathodes.

Ok, my case looks really nice now, but after we put everything back together in the case, and gave it a boot,
the screen would stay right at the mother board logo screen.

I couldn't hear my WD Special Edition Hard Drive, and I know the IDE and power connectors were working.
However, im not sure if they were always silent like that, but i doubt it, i didn't even feel vibration.

My friend took the hard drive to his house, plugged it into his computer that works, and said that he had the same problem with the hard drive.

My main question is, is a failed hard drive the only thing that is possible as a problem right now?
Also, what do you think could have caused the damage, cuz i handeld it real well, and it was working a few hours prior to the opening of my case. Maybe static?

Thank you very much for reading. Please answer!

You could run the Windows XP fix disk and run FIXBOOT. But in my experience I have always ended up reformatting the
drive because I could never get a damaged OS to function 'like new' again.
