Okay, here is my problem:
About two weeks ago I got home from my 2-week vacation. When I got back I formatted my computer and installed windows 98SE. Before, I was running windows 98. Furthermore, when I tried installing my video card (savage 4) it would not use the Windows 98 drivers, it would only accept the windows 95 drivers. It would say "Theses drivers are not suited for this hardware" for windows 98 drivers.
Now, everytime I boot up my computer, it will freeze right before it goes into windows. Usually, the screen goes blank and then the desktop loads, etc. But now it just stays blank. I press the reset button when this happens, and it goes to that start-up menu, where you can choose normal boot up, logged, safe, etc. Now, I pick logged here, and then it will boot up normally.
Furthermore, before I formatted I played High Heat Baseball 2001 with no problems. Now, I run the game and it loads, but after one or two outs, the game will just kick me back to the desktop. I don't know if this has anything to do with the bootup problem, but i figure i'd just throw it out there.

I'm not completely sure this is a video card/CPU problem. Though it might be. I took out my AGP Savage4 card and put in my old PCI card. I booted up and shut down 4 or 5 times, without a problem.

Now, I think there could be a few things that could be wrong:
a) video card is dying (look at the end for my o/c specs)
b) wrong drivers for the video card, even though it won't accept win98 drivers
c) OS problem (I had 98 and this is 98SE)
d) ????

Celeron 533A at 880mhz
Savage4 8mg AGP
creative voodoo2 8mg

anymore info needed? Please help me out!

Question 1 did you format and install at OC`d speeds???

Question 2 Screw what Win98SE says about the drivers and install the darn things... It does that just to PYO...

Answer 1 The BB game is kicking back to the desktop because of the overclocking more than likely (waiter MORE voltage!!!!)

Answer 1 Yes I did. I don't think that is a prob cause I've done it once before, though it was just windows 98

Answer 2 I tried installing the drivers but the same problems persists

I don't think it is the voltage that is kicking the game back because I can play Diablo II and The Sims with no problem, and also, before the format I could play for over an hour with no problems. (I've never tried playing over an hour though)

Ok a lot of times OS`s dont install very will at overclocked speeds remember these are most of the time odd buss speeds... My CUSL2 is so picky about installs that I run it at default cpu speed every time or else the motherboard drivers dont install properly... I have had other boards do strange stuff with what we say are (stable chips) remember also that we run these things at speeds they were not designed to run at but do anyhow so you might consider it and try it... Because it sounds like ya have run out of options...!

Good luck BTW

Heck just do a little upgrade like Geforce 2 MX (very nice for the price $100 or so...)
