How can you tell if your lymph nodes are swollen?

when i swallow, my throat feels weird, like something is there. so i am thinking that my lymph nodes are swollen, but i can't really tell. it doesn't hurt or anything. any one with sound medical mind here?

can you be more specific as to how i would feel them? would they be visible? like you can see your swollen throat?

feel the spot about halfway between your jawline and adams apple. if its tender/swollen, then yeah, thats your lymph nodes.

If your lymph nodes were swollen, your neck would hurt just below the back of your jawbone.

that's the thing, it doesnt hurt like if you have a sore throat.

can you be more specific as to "tender/swollen"? would it be obvious?

STD?

actually you are kind of on the money, but i have tested for pretty much ever std and came up negative. i am afraid that it's HIV, since the time I tested negative for HIV was 7 weeks past exposure. so it didnt mean anythihng

feel around the spot on your neck that you would feel to check your heartbeat. if there is a large semi-moveable lump there, it is probably a swollen lymph node which generally means you are sick or getting sick. if you don't feel anything unordinary then they aren't swollen.

it's hard to say. it might not be extremely obvious. if it feels a little different then normal, thats a sign. but then again, most people dont feel that area unless they are sick, so its hard to compare.

sh1t, i feel the two lumps there, and they are semi-movable. oh sh1t... swollen lymph nodes are the first signs of HIV infection

Worry much?

it can't be syphillis, i tested 7 weeks after, which is enough time for it to show up. the only probable thing that i haven't ruled out is hiv, sh1t, i am gonna die.

Get a bottle of Berberine( a highly potent natural antibiotic containing GoldenSeal and Barberry Bark). Take the entire bottle over the next 8 days. Send me $100.

Unless you have specific reason to believe that you've contracted HIV, I doubt it's an HIV infection. I get swollen lymph nodes about a week before I get sick, invariably, always. It's a common thing for peoples' lymph nodes to enlarge during the onset of a new viral/bacterial infection. There's a ton of things that could make your lymph system react like that, and while HIV is one of them it's one of thousands...
