blackinches ordered the 90nm 3500+ cpu, but wanted to make sure it was the correct one. is there a way to tell by the serial number or numbers on the cpu?

amol received shipment of his 3000+ winchester today

the number on his 3000+ says: ADA3000DIK4BI

also, how does amol check when his cpu was made?

Amaroque has a 3500+ Winchester. But he misplaced the paper with the markings written down. :)

blackinches' winchester also has the DIK4BI also. would the newcastle cores have a different suffix?

if it's 90nm, then it's winchester, period. another way to tell would be to just use CPU-Z.

the problem with that is blackinches has not installed it yet, and does not yet have all the components to install it.

I'm sorry that I don't really have anything useful to add, but I'll be damned if I let this entire thread go by with everyone referring to themselves in the third person without someone coming along to give it a good old-fashioned first-person kick in the ass.

Feel free to disregard this post and go about your business.

MDE is positive that if the first string of characters ends in BI then you have a Winchester, so shut yer mouths and use the BLOODY SEARCH FUNCTION.

The BI is your Winnie signature as MDE says he says.
