I have two brand new CPUs in a tray. (Image Below). When I go to the Intel Site (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005719/processors.html) I see there is a tool I can use to see if they are Engineering Samples BUT these are not installed on a computer.
The CPU has an ES on it so on one hand I would think they are samples. On the other hand according to the Intel Link "The easiest way to tell if you have an ES processor produced by Intel is to look at the processor topside markings. If you have a four or five-digit Qspec listed like the one pictured below, you have an engineering sample. A production processor has a five digit sSpec on the topside markings. It usually begins with S, like SLB9L." - These do not have the four or five digit code.
