Okay, i'm a bit frustrated all of a sudden. I've been sitting here gritting my teeth for the past week and a half or so about some of the comments made from the leftists of P&N.

References like "Dumba**es" and calling Bush Supporters ignorant or stupid. Then, going back and talking about how much you appreciate our troops. How much you wish "our boys" didn't have to go over there and die.

Lets not forget that "our boys" voted 4-1 in favor of Bush. If you guys truely supported them, you would listen to them when they made the stand that THEY feel they should be over there. THEY feel that Bush has made the right decisions. Who are you leftists to be two faced about the way they feel? You guys arn't the one over there dying, they are.

So next time you begin criticizing the Bush Supporters, think of the ones that over there fighting and putting their life on the line, whether you feel it is for our safety or not.

Yawn. I don't like the term "Support Our Troops" the way it is used today whether by the Right or the Left. Either way, it's just about as Orwellian as you can get.

Hi,

They could have voted for Bush because he had a better plan for Iraq than Kerry did. What percent of the North goes to the military over the South? Voting for Bush does not mean they support the war. Bush is their leader and the military has always voted in favor of republicans over democrats. Not to mention Bush has given the militrary far more than ever.

If I was a soldier I would support being there too. You need to make the best of things and they have.

Last time I checked they were U.S soldiers and not Bush soldiers. I'll support anyone wherever they are so long as they have a U.S badge on their shoulder.

I am not comparing our troops with nazis, Im comparing your faux support with those of the german citizenry.

I do support our troops, I do support what they are doing.

This "with us or against us" hot button issue one dimension mentality is utter crap, and not what any thinking person would bother arguing about. You can go out and find plenty of veterans who will praise or bash the current situation, and it is irrelavant. disagreeing with the policy is not the same as being unsupportive of the troops, get over it.

I believe there should be a world army whose job is to shoot anybody who orders them into battle.

Taking this thread to it's logical conclusion, would you guys suggesting that you can't support the troops and not support the war, not support the troops if YOU didn't agree with the war the president ordered them to fight? Obviously your support is conditional on liking the war they are in and not based on respect for them for serving their country, otherwise you would be able to see why the "leftists" can support the troops and pray/hope for their safe return, yet dislike the war Bush got them into.

I'm not going to take the blame for your personal failings of morality, but before asking me how I can support the troops and not the war, I'd take a good, long look in the mirror and ask yourselves why YOU couldn't. Your "support" comes off as a pathetic excuse to make people believe in the war effort. Real support comes from people who respect the soldiers for serving their country, and that's not conditional on liking the war they are in. Fans of the war can be real supporters too, but I question the motives of anyone who thinks support should be conditional on agreeing with a soldier's political point of view. To quote nutxo, THAT sounds like "faux support" to me. You guys don't "support the troops", you "support the war" and support the troops because they are fighting it. But I guess that doesn't look as good on a ribbon on your car, does it?

I respect you for your service, but that doesn't make your political opinion any more valid.

Edit: And I saw what you were apparently "bullsh**ing". I know several veterans and soldiers who dislike Bush and what he's doing. Or don't you realize that 4 to 1 support means there is one out there who DOESN'T support Bush?

Uhhh..... You may want to do a little research on where the German army was and who was running the camps during WWII.

It is politically correct to support the troops. The liberals just don't want to admit they don't support the troops. It is a cop out like many of their positions. It's like voting for the 87 billion before blah blah or telling Detroit you love your SUV, but the enviro's you don't own one, your family does, or it dempends on what "is" is. You can say anything, you can justify anything. I don't buy it.

I didn't like the thought of the Iraq war before it started or the way it was planned, but now that we are there I support the troops and what they are doing. I want them to win and bring democracy to Iraq. I root for them every day and literally feel a pain in my heart every time I hear a soldier is killed. I want them to kill every damn terrorist in Iraq. I support the USA and the troops in Iraq. At least some of liberals in here like "barney" have the balls to admit they don't support the troops (even though I think he's wrong).

there is an easy way to settle all of this. To prove that we support the troops, lets just poll them and then agree with whatever they say.

We need not limit this to a poll on the war.

Also, by your reasoning, 1 in 5 members of our armed forces do not support the troops. At a time of war I'd say that's nearly treasonous!

Yup. The OP's problem is black and white thinking. It's not reasonable. Another example is people with children in the war who are against the war. Do they not support the troops? Their own children? Of course they do...

Liberals are just anti-republican. Wow, there's a obvious statement. If it had been Gore to commit our troops in the same fashion as Bush did, liberals would have been fine with it. Conservatives wouldn't put their party ahead of whats good for the country the way liberals have lately.
