How can you check if you have a 2.8 P4 Northwood or Prescott?!

Hi,

Is it true that it's better to get a Pentium 2.8 Ghz Northwood instead of Prescott? If you buy a PC, and they install a 2.8, how can I verify if they installed a Northwood or Prescott? Can this be reliably checked with some software like SiSoft Sandra or what are the names of those programs?

Thanks in advance for the info!

Much better if you go with Northwood. Prescott is for example x.xE processor while northwood is x.xC.
