I thought priests were sworn to celebacy? So if they don't have sex with anyone for their entire life how can they consider themselves gay?

i thought they changed their stance on that, and let priests get married now and stuff..
i think this guy is just telling everyone he is gay so the church seems like its politically correct now.

its all a scam if you ask me.

Oh snap, I never knew they changed it. If so, kudos to the guy. I could care less. I thought that they couldn't get married or have the nasty.

I know Christian priests or pastors can have wives etc.

I think priests are sworn to celibacy only after they become priests. Maybe they were sexually active before becoming priests. I remember we had a substitute priest at my church one time, and he said that he had children...he became a priest after his wife passed away.

um, you're joking right? You're telling me you weren't attracted to females before you had sex?

You are thinking of cathlic priests. Episcopal priests are not sworn to celibacy.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I didn't know there were a bunch of different type of priests that existed. Now I know and learning is half the battle. GI JOE!

they haven't changed anything

certain churches allow their priests/reverends to get married...

The Roman Catholic Church [as far as I know] makes sure its priests don't get married and are sworn to celebacy

Meanwhile, the Anglican Church allows their reverends to get married and have children

What...you think one has to actually have sex in order to determine if they are straight or gay??

episcopalian priests are allowed to marry. it's uncertain at this moment whether it's acceptable for episcopalian priests to be openly gay. catholic priests are not allowed to be married. the stance of the catholic church is that it's okay to be gay, but you cannot act on that feeling, so, in effect, the stance of the church is that you can be gay without acting on that.

If this is true, then it happened between Mass this morning and now.
Perhaps you could refer me to a reference book or website that would explain this.

Thanks!
