How can u o/c opteron 165 (1.8x2 stock) to 2.6+ on stock voltage?

I have one of the worst (worst in overclocking sense) opterons running on a DFI lanparty ultra-d SLI. With 4x512mb ddr500 kingmax (overclockers series heh..)

Processor is running stable at 2.6ghz, 9 x 289mhz, at 1.5v (up from 1.35 stock)
Stable as in prime95 stable, 2 instances running on each core.

It won't hear at anything bellow 1.5v. Temperatures are at 35C with mild desktop work up to 50C while doing heavy prime benching. Cooled by Zalman cnps 7700 al-cu set at quiet mode (900-1000rpm).

No way you will get it there on stock voltage. My mobo only goes to 1.45 and it keeps me at 2.45. Your temps are good so just run it at the 1.5vcore as long as its cool it will be ok. 50c heavy load is nothing.

PM a mod to get it moved.

Also my Opty 175 (worst stepping here too, 543??? I can't remember it) can do ~2.75ghz and maby a little more with 1.5v. I wouldn't go over 1.5v though.
I have watercooling so temperature doesn't really matter.

I can get 2.7 at the stock 1.3V, 2.85 at 1.425V (my normal setting) and 2.9 at 1.5V. The 2.85 setting tops out at 42C (room temperature is generally around 80F) on air cooling.

50C is fine but you don't want to go too much above that.

And yeah, this should be in CPU.

I have an Opty 165 and Prime 95 failed on one of the cores running only at 2.0 GHz. Wonder how hard this would be to RMA to AMD?
