How can the body produce so much snot and mucus?

No wonder they tell ya to keep drinking fluids when you're sick.

I could fill a 5-gallon bucket from the last couple of days.

ugh.

I'm glad I already suffered through a cold. Then again, said cold make Christmas miserable.

I thought New Year's eve sucked, cold, hungry stuck babysitting till 8pm,this illness is making that look like a day at the beach. Of course it figures my b/day is Sun and I had plans to have an exciting weekend.

I hate missing work but I'd be useless there and would just spread it back to others.

My oldest had the flu the two weeks before Christmas while the youngest missed just one day but they've had coughs/sniffles since. My youngest missed 4 days of school last week.

I've had the runny nose/cough off and on for a while but last night was the worst.

My sister said it takes some people a full 2-3 weeks to fully get over this.

Spring, Spring, wherefore art thou, Spring?

I hate missing work and was going to go in today, till I stepped downstairs and almost fainted. My legs feel like rubber.

Now I need some cheese to go with my whine

Not only that, but my snot-covered nose hairs froze today while I walked to work in 5F coldness. 😀

What I wanna know is where so much snot comes from. I mean sometimes it's just a continous stream.
That's what I was wondering over the holidays too. I didn't have it as bad as others. Only had a couple days of 'flu-like symptoms' with a high fever and felt really weak, but after that I felt fine EXCEPT for the constant stream of mucas drainage that kept my throat sore and me coughing for the next 2.5 weeks. How the body keeps producing mucas at such an amazing rate is a bit disturbing.

What pisses me off the most is that I was sick like you all are describing prior to Christmas. I took vacation from mid December to first week of January and got better and had a relaxing break. I come back to work and within two days I am getting the same cold again. This just plain sucks!

ugh.

It would take me weeks to fill up a 5 gallon bucket....and my forearm would look like popeye afterwards.
