they have the gc68 for $1.99 which includes the heatsink and 80mm 32cfm/2500rpm fan.
and then in their fan section, the same fan goes for $1.49 and others at around $5.
does the hs cost $.50?

on a side note, how well will the gc68 + stock fan cool a tbred xp2100?

maybe they count on selling them cheap and having people buy other stuff when they get the gc68

Simple. Either:

1. They buy so many that they can offer it at that price considering these products are made in China.

2. They are dumping just to get customers in to spend money to get that particular heatsink and maybe something else at full retail price.

I use to work there. The bosses there are SOMETIMES nice, but most of the time they make false promises.

Well, there are two bosses there of SVC. One handles the business aspects (neogtiating, getting deals etc) whlie the other handles all the technical side (website, new products, specifications, etc). I was suppose to get a raise there but next thing you know they...well..the business one backed out so I said fvck it and bounced. The business one acts very arrogant and thinks he's all that. It's funny cause based on my initial findings, he can't seem to hold a decent group of employees there. There is a huge turnover rate working for them. He attitude towards employees are a dime a dozen. I don't know about you, but if you want a successful business, you want dedicated workers who will work with you based on the respect you give them. If you don't show any concerns for your workers, then all you will ever do is keep on training new employees over and over again. Oh yeah..the technical boss seems to be really cool at times, but sometimes he makes you look like you're dumb or something. Actually both of them do that. The only way I would work back there is when hell freezes over.

Should be fine if it is a Newwer T-Bred B.

I had these heatsinks cooling my Athlon 1700+ chips, the older .18 ones on a dual cpu board.

my cpu (xp2000 oc'd to xp2100) @ max load is running at 52C

its in an antec plusview 1000amg case with antec trilight 80mm fans mounted everywhere, including the GC68 hsf. the ambient temperature in the house is ~72F, and my case temp is 29C. Also, i'm using arctic silver 3...

All in all, i think its a nice cheap budget hsf...of course, i bought my GC68 years(?) ago, when it first came out, so who knows if there's a better budget hsf out there..

Dumb question... Can it handle a xp2600+? I assume it can't, since if it did, it'd put all those $20+ hsf's to shame.
