how can someone send me a txt message through aim when my phone is not setup for forwarding?

I received a txt message tonight from someone on aim, on my phone. However, I do not have my screen name setup at all with any kind of txt or wireless stuff. how is this done?

on aim buddy list setup> add mobile.
