I've heard that a person can have 2 passports of different countries. How can that be so?

edit: The two pssports are both valid. But I don't understand why, and how its used when you go through immigration officers...

One of my professors lives in Bellingham, works in UBC (Vancouver) and got a house in Seoul (Korea). He's an American (born in Louisiana), a Canadian citizen, and married to a Korean wife. :)

I don't get it. How can a person have >1 citizenship. What is the definition of citizenship anyway?

The definition of a citizen varies from country to country. And dual citizenship must be allowed between the countries that grant you the passport.

I'm not an expert in this, so don't quote me. Just sharing from what I heard.

Say if you are born in Asia, then you'll get a passport of your country.

Then one day you decided to move to Canada, you applied for PR and got accepted. Then you've live 3 yrs within 5 yr period to obtain Canadian citizenship.

After a while you get sick of Canada, you want to move to the US, same things apply. However America is VERY hard to get into nowadays.
