Prowresling crowd I'm sure loved it.

yeah, because the whole point of the movie was to show realistic fights.

I thought the point was dorks can be tough too and a dude with multiple personality disorder is cool...Never had much of a positive message as far as aI could tell. Much like mulhuland dr. Plain garbage and people try and sound cool and pretensious acting like it's quality film.

These movies will be relegated playing beteen late night infomerials in the future while movies Like Pulp Fiction still sells more copies than both.

Wow. That was a poor trolling effort even by your lofty standards. Thanks for playing though. :)

Not happening as of late. Too many fsckups with casting, direction, etc. There was also the question of working on a film where the main character hijacks a plane after 9/11. :(

The chief problem I had with the movie's conclusion, since no one has asked me :), was that throughout the film, it seemed to be placing the fault of materialistic desires on the individual; then, in the conclusion, by destroying the banks, etc., it essentially shifted that blame from the individual to the system. The conclusion seemed inconsistent to the message of the rest of the film. :(

Otherwise it was entertaining, though. :)

I liked it, but I've noticed that a lot of people who really, really like it tend to be the type who embrace the whole non-conformist attitude. Ironically, most of these people are in fact more like non-conformist fan boys.

That's all you got out of Fight Club? Really? If so, you might want to continue your education beyond a sixth-grade level. Fight Club was excellent commentary on the human condition, on culture, materialism, and psychology; it's a shame you missed it.

I loved Fight Club, and I love all of Palahniuk's books. I guess it's just because I'm pretentious...

must say its a trippy movie:) and yea the ending isn't as good as the rest of the film, but the rest is damn good. music is pretty good too, nice to blare on nice speakers:)

hope u guys bought the two disc dvd while u could. they rereleased it as a stripped one discer:p

i walked out half way through the movie when i saw it in the theaters. i watched it on HBO sometime later and loved it. same thing happened to me when i saw matrix reloaded. i was dissapointed the first time, but i've seen it 6 times since then and i love it more and more every time i see it. sometimes you're just not in the mood to watch a particular movie, that's all.

same here, i liked reloaded better on the second viewing. kinda strange.

If you're going to try to have a cohesive argument, at least come up with solid, material reasons on why you didn't like the movie, AND tell us what kinds of movies you do like. As of now you're just making yourself out to be a cave troll with the IQ of a pimple.

not knowing what it is all about is much different than missing the point entirely.

Next st@b at it please... Ambiguous reviews don't help me. What do you mean by excellent commentary on human condition? Why is it so profound?

And someone who argues against a movie they haven't even seen is an ignorant dipshit of biblical proportions.

Go see the film, read the book, or both, or just shut the f*ck up already.

you really are an intellectual wasteland.

a lot of the movie is about giving up your possessions because people are not defined by the things they own. this is why 'tyler' torches his alter-ego's home. did you even see it? and if you saw it, were you paying attention?

time for a slightly more elaborate post.

Fight club was good because the guys fought.

no.

it was great because it recognizes the alientation of contemporary man (the office worker) from the *real* nature of existence. We're so far removed from hunting and gathering that we masturbate to ikea catalogs that tell us what we're allowed to like. contemporary man is used and discarded like a post coital condom filled with jizz. we're consumption recepticles, absorbing whatever the latest advertisment lets us, and remaining relevant only as long as our office productivitly allows us to be. later, most of us will retire in complete alienation because our consumption power will be dwarfed by the generation that succeeds us.
