Yesterday I went over to my fiances aunt's house. I don't really know why we went over there, but we did. Anyway, when we got there everyone was watching the wedding planner. When that ended, they put on My Big Fat Grek Wedding, and after that, that put on Lake Placid.

Damn people, how long can you stare at the TV for?

I was wandering around outside, playing with the dog, jumping on the kids' trampoline. I was so bored...

I get paid to sit in front of a computer all day. No one was paying them to sit in front of the TV.

i guess it's their preferred form of entertainment.

i can't watch that many movies in a row. i get too "emotionally drained" after one 😛
 
uhm, i can for a certain amount of time, if theres something really funny/interesting on, but not usually more than 2 hrs in a sitting, after that i start to go looney 😛

Damn! ESPECIALLY with that list of movies.... :disgust:

I can't wait for all 3 of the LOTR movies to be out and I can spend ~11 hours watching one after the other. 😉

I guess it doesn't matter much what one does - watches TV, PC monitor or just stares at the wall. It's all done with one and the same purpose - to waste time? Not to think about anything? To hide from evil forces surrounding you? Abstract from reality to find a sublimated shelter? I guess so.
 
I hear ya', notfred.

On Christmas Day 2002, I spent time with my in-laws. Did we socialize, play games, read about the nativity, etc. after dinner? Nope, we watched Beverly Hills Cop 3 on TNT. Why? Because it was on. I did all I could to get out of there, but what could I do? Nothing. Even my wife had no problem watching it, and I guess I would have been seen as an outsider/loner for not watching it with the family. I've gone over to my in-laws hoping to spend some quality time only to see them watching the latest Jean-Claude Van Damme nightmare on USA. I was so tempted to ask them if they've read any good books lately...

i do a lot...but usually its because i am supposed to be doing something else and feel guilty if i go outside or go do something else...

but i take a lot of "breaks" and watch tv

Are there not other things you could be doing that is work related??

If not maybe you might want to ask for a biger work laod??

I just seem to me that maybe your taking advantage of the person who is paying you??

if i hadnt had broadband on my computer, id probably be in front of the tv all day , too. instead, im in front of the computer all day 😛

my eyes are really starting to feel the strain of extended sessions, tho =x
 
Yeah i really don't see how people do it. I usually reach for the dvd of choice. Skip to the section that interests me. Next thing ya know....thwap, thwap, thwap.........and five minutes later I'm done. How can you sit in front of that darned boob tube all day long!?!

you do realize that your marrying into that family right and if the mom was there doing that then ur seeing a pic of your future wife and pan over to ur future father in law...yes ..thats gonna be you 10 yrs down the road!!
