How can one tell if a keylogger is running in a computer?

If it's a software keylogger, I'm guessing it would show up under "Processes" within Task Manager. If it's a hardware, my guess is to check if there's an adapter at the end of the keyboard cable.

Good ones are not detectable in the task manager.

There is a way to hide processes from the task manager. I'd use a more indepth tool like Microsoft Antispyware or HijackThis to view startup and running processes

Some software keyloggers do not show up in the taskmanager. There are some that do but will not terminate unless a password is entered.
