Yes, it is slower and I am even using faster RAM. I don't understand.
With the MSI KT3: I was using an AMD 1800xp+/512mb Mushkin PC2100 RAM, and GF4 ti4200
With the ASUS A7V8X: I am using the SAME CPU/512mb "CORSAIR XMS" PC3200 RAM/Same Videon card.
Now I realize the CPU and Video are the same; however, this Mobo has a faster FSB, it's newer, it was advertised and reviewed aas a VERY FAST board and the RAM I am using is also "faster" 2100 vs 3200".
In my 3Dmark2001se on the MSI I was getting 9950 scores.
In the same Benchmark on the ASUS I am only getting 9500 scores.
Now I realize that 500 marks isnt that much; however, I would think the ASUS with better RAM would blow the MSI away.
I am using the latest 1010 bios on the ASUS too.
I know that the 266 FSB on the 1800xp limits the ASUS board, but I would still think the ASUS would be faster with the faster RAM too.
Any ideas? I mean I have read how FAST this board was all over these forums so I got one...but its slower than my MSI all things being failry equal so what gives??
