I have not seen a TV or VCR with Svideo in on it, but I heard they do make them. I would have to imagine so or Svideo would be pointless, does anybody know who makes a VCR or TV with Svideo in? I would prefer the VCR so I don't have to buy a whole new TV, but LMK about the TV's too.

Also let me make sure, if I run the Svideo from my vid card to the VCR and the VCR to my TV it will work, right?

1. almost all TV w/ minimum 800 line of resolution has SVideo in.
2. I think all SuperVHS VCR also has Svideo in.
3. Yes, it will work.

How do I know if my VCR is SuperVHS or if my TV has 800 lines of res. I know that my current TV and VCR does not have Svideo, do you know where I could buy one of these SuperVHS VCR's?

well I don't want to go from Svideo to RCA, I have RCA hooks ups on my TV and VCR, but have heard Svideo looks better, plus now I have a PS2 which can also use Svideo, so i want to go that route.

Most high-end TV's have them, and pretty much all projection TV's have them too. BTW, if you go S-Video to VCR and then RCA composite to TV, you are still going to lose quality from the S-Video to RCA. Plus if you watch DVD's on your TV thru your VCR, Macrovision might screw up the signal.

only TV and VCR w/ 800-line or higher resolution has S-Video.
You can buy either of those from your local shop (BESTBUY?)

SVideo looks better?..hmm.....maybe...
Just say DVD has resolution up to around 550-line of resolution.
your regular Cable TV will support up to high 300-line.
say you have 800X600 from your PC to your SuperVHS, but you only has regular 500 line TV, it will NOT be much of different.

Well that blows, that means if I want to use the Svideo to it's full quality I need to buy an Svideo capable TV? Does anybody know if the princeton arcadia's have svideo in? Or can somebody give me a few more brand names for the TV's?

like yellowperil said...
most projection TV has S-video in.
high end TV has that too...
you can try Bestbuy.com first...
from that you can see if that particular TV has 800 line of resolution or not.

p.s. apparently I was wrong...I didn't know they have 575 line projection TV w/ Svideo in. (I have 55" 1200 line projection TV) But again, Svideo w/ only 575 line of resolution still wouldn't be good enough for your PC's input.

So you are saying that if I get one of the good res. TV's with Svideo in, and run the svideo from my vid card to the TV, that it won't look any better then the RCA output would.

Can anyone else back this up, it doesn't sound right, or other wise why would they have svideo?

if you have full spec, of course it looks better!
