How can I unlock a Netbook's wireless card

I have a Dell Mini 1012 with a Wireless 5541 moible broadband card which appears to be locked to AT&T because when I put in a T-mobile card I get the message "device is locked"

How can I go about unlocking the card so I can use T-Mobile or other provders that use the same technology? I bought the netbook off Craigslist so I never had the data service activated with AT&T.

Because my T-Mobile voice service is prepaid and the phone is a very basic model with GPRS data at best. I only use the phone to TALK nothing more.

I think I get it.

I found a whole forum dedicated to dell mini's. I have zero experience with those lil guys but it looks like this forum should be able to help??
