how can I turn off onboard audion in vista

I'm having a difficult time with this. I just built a computer and used the sound card my Asus mobo came. For some reason the sound doesn't work, so I'm assuming this is because I didn't disable the onboard audio? also would there be any drivers for the card?

mobo is a asus p5e, thanks

The technical specification for this MB indicates that it comes with a sound card. Ensure that you install the drivers for this card that came with the MB to ensure that the audio functions. (I wouldnt think that there would be anything in the BIOS that you should have to be concerned with relative to the audio, but it would hurt to review the MB manual or review the BIOS screens.)
