How can I test the Java/Java script capabilities of my browser?

I have Netscape 4.7 but I can't seem to find where I enable Java and Java Script. I always thought it was in Edit>>>Preferences but I can't find them there.

I don't think they are enabled.

I don't have any idea how I overlooked the settings every time I went into preferences.

Anyway, Java and JavaScript are enabled but I don't think they are working. Are there any sites that you are aware of that utilize java and java script?

I have went to a few that give me an error message that says something to the effect of 'java script not enable in your browser.' But it is enabled.
