How can I test a new monitor?

I have got a new 19" VX924 LCD monitor?

Are there tests I can run to methodically find possible dead or stuck pixels, bleeding, ghosting or anything else I need to make sure about before the return possibility runs out?

There is a program, alas I do not know its name....to test colors, put up a full screen of a dark green, a dark red, and a dark blue. Dead pixels will rear ther ugly heads for those colors.

For ghosting, try a game like need for speed, that has a lot of fast movement and would easily show ghosting. That, or just go into any FPS and spin around really fast...that'll show ghosting as well.

Yeah, you can do such tests simply by removing your desktop wallpaper as well as everything else and changeing the background color around to see if anything sticks out, but one of those propgrams would probably be simpler.
