How can I tell whether a Vista DVD is 32 bit or 64 bit?

Two years ago, I had an MSDNAA subscription and was able to download a legal .iso of Vista Business Edition. I burnt the .iso to a DVD, but never installed it. Now I am going back through my discs and am trying to figure out whether I have the 32-bit or 64-bit version, as all I wrote on the DVD was "Vista Business".

I have looked through the README files, but can't find anything that identifies the disc as being either 32-bit or 64-bit. The setup screen doesn't give any hints either. I know how to determine whether a computer that already has Vista installed is running the 32 or 64 bit version, but I don't have a spare machine to test this disc on right now.

Can anyone answer my question?

If you start the Vista install using the DVD on the machine your using now you should be able to see what versions are available for install then just cancel the install.

Open the DVD and look at Autorun.inf It'll show the version there.

I got to where it was actually starting to install files, but not once did it ever specify which version it was installing (32 or 64 bit). :confused:

All it says in autorun.inf is:

[Autorun]
open=setup.exe
icon=setup.exe,0

Huh... I'm guessing 32bit then. My Vista64 DVD shows AMD64 in there.

Edit:
Confirmed... My Vista32 disc says the same thing as yours.

I used that method before but maybe it just works when there are multiple versions to install.

Try this if your using a 32bit Windows OS might need to be Vista as you would put the DVD in your running system and treat as it you were doing an upgrade if its 64bit it should not let you install the upgrade and you will get a message as such.you may need to open the setup.exe on the DVD root as I did to start the process.
