I dunno, it doesn't say on the bill somewhere? Can't you call and ask? Surely there's more than one way out of this confusing conundrum you've stumbled into.
call them and ask... back then i didn't even have to sign a contract for free equipments, i did pay one year in advance so that i can get one month for free. i called them to make sure i cancel ontime so that i don't get charged for another year.
