How can I tell what version of Directx is installed?

Can't see where. I'm multibooting Win2000 SP2, Win98SE and NT 4.0 SP6a. I kind of think that Directx doesn't exist for NT 4, but how do I figure out what version is installed in Win2k and Win98SE? Thanks.

Yep, it's there. I found a shortcut to it poking around, in the \directx directory. Question: Why isn't there a shortcut to it somewhere, such as in Accessories or Computer Management? Seems kind of weird. Now, I'm not yet into using it, games, etc., but I have some games I'm going to install. Seems weird that Directx is kind of hidden away. What's the idea?

Well, normally you don't need to access it yourself. It's just there and it works ;)
But, yeah, I remember some older versions of DirectX had an icon in the control panel.
