How can I tell if my xbox is modded (MOD PLEASE MOVE TO PROPER FORUM)

Just bought an Original Xbox from the forums here and was told it was softmodded but it doesn't look to be. When I boot up there is only the original microsoft logo and then it boot to the offical dashboard. Also when looking at the saved games file none of the exploits are listed. I tried to boot both a Slayers 2.6 and AID 3.0 CDrom with no luck. I have always dealt with only modchips so I am not sure if I am overlooking something. I wanted to verify before I contact the member about it. Thanks

A softmod can easily be undone by trying to go online with xbox live. A single update will make it go poof.
 
It definitely sounds like it isn't softmodded.... AFAIK once the system is softmodded it should certainly boot in Slayer's, or even a burned disc.

I'm a mod-chip person myself. They're really easy to install into the original Xbox.

Another problem, even if the firmware is old enough to cause an update and the update overwrites the softmod, the unit MIGHT have already been flagged as a mod, and will be banned during the next mass banning.

Sounds like you need to ask the original owner for more details.

edit: oh wait, an original ORIGINAL XBox 1 or an XBox 360?

Did you talk to the seller regrading your questions and concerns? That would be the first place to go.
