Short Story: hacked my Arescom 800 DSL modem to turn on DMZ and port forward to my linksys, which i have it port forwarding. How can I tell if it is working?

Correct yoda291, I want to be at the computer that the ports will be forwarded to and check to see if they are open. I tried to connect to my desktop (where the ports should be forwarding to, which is in the DMZ) from my laptop (which is on the same network) by the external IP, but it didn't work. Later I was informed that this will not work becuase my DSL router doesn't support "Looping". Both computers are connected to my Linksys router, which is connected to my DSL Modem.

DSL External IP: Changes
DSL Internal IP: 192.168.1.1
Linksys External IP: 192.168.1.2
Linksys Internal IP 192.168.2.1
Desktop (DMZ) IP: 192.168.2.201
Laptop IP: 192.168.2.250

You could go here, enter the port that is supposed to be open and see if it connects.

Another option would be to remove the Linksys from the picture temporarily and connect your PC directly to the DSL modem. Then setup an FTP server or something simple and see if you can connect to it. Or you can just run a portscan on yourself off of a website to see if the DMZ setup is indeed working.
