Using newegg, I can't figure out how to filter it to only show 24-pin psu's, and I can't tell by looking at the specs either. How do i do this? I think that dual 12v rails are always 24-pin, is that right? Are single rail psu's ever 24-pin? I figured this out at one time, but now I don't remember. I know I can probably convert/use 20 pin, but I don't want to mess around with that.

Ok thanks...If anyone could suggest a good psu for msi k8n sli, id really appreciate it. I'm looking for 500 watts or more, 24 pin, and note that it must have the -5 v output to work with this mobo. I am having a really hard time finding psu's with all those features. My price range is $120 or less, but I can stretch this if the psu above this has some awesome feature or is dead silent. I don't like to ask questions like this, but I spent hours picking the first psu (won't work b/c it doesn't have -5v), and I just don't feel like spending more time when somebody out there with an msi k8n sli could give me a suggestion--it doesn't have to be the ultimate psu that fits that, just has to work and be pretty good quality.

Count the number of the pins on the psu. :)
Not all dual railed PSUs are 24 pin. They might make a note of it, saying that it has a 24 pin connector, or that it conforms to the ATX 2.0 spec.

I believe you want to look for ATX 2.0 compliant, should = 24 pin PSU. Or else you can always buy an adapter. Antec 480 Neopower is a good PSU for around $120.

filtering atx 2.0 doesnt give u all the 24pin psus. u just have to look at each one if you want to see all of them. oh and which pin has to be -5v?
