how can i tell if a CD is bootable?

HI, i have a CD , i want to see if it is bootable.

My motherboard that i have to test doesn't support boot from CD on floppy drive.

is there any ways that i can find out?

a bit confused.

CD on floppy drive?

did you mean cd or floppy drive?

if you meant "or" instead of "on", it's hard to believe.
'cause how would you install OSes on such motherboards?
image the hd outside of the box first? that'd be the only way i can think of.
and not that i don't believe you, but it's just hard to imagine a mobo without such feature.

excuse me...

what i mean is my motherboard doesn't support "boot from CD", it supports boot from floppy.

was thinking something else so...

here's a link ... that'll probably be of some help to you.

but i'd think the easiest solution is to take that cd to another computer that supports cd booting.

The linux command 'file' command will do it, but you'll probably have to install cygwin to use it in Windows.
