How can I share an ICQ install between Win2k and Win98 dual boot?

I'm trying to figure out how to share an ICQ install between Win2k and Win98se. I want to be able to share the same contact list, history, etc. I had this working in the past (before a reformat/reinstall) using ICQ 99a, but have been unable to get it working with v2000. I installed ICQ 2000a in Win2k and set everything up in that OS. I then booted into 98se, installed 2000a (to get the .dll's in the right place). I then tried pointing my ICQ shortcut to the icq.exe for the Win2k install, but it just brought up an empty ICQ window with no user.

This is the same process I used with 99a, but it doesn't seem to work with 2000a. Maybe I'm missing something.

Anyone know how to do this?

If you can view the ICQ directory from both W2K and Win98, then just install it in both OS's to the same location. Now they should share the same files..would that not work!? Regards

You should install both ICQ's to the same shared directory for both OS's... this way the contact list etc will get stored at the same place and both OS's are accessing the same data...
