I've played w/the CMOS and the Win98 settings, but I can't get my home computer to go into standby mode, like my laptop can. What are the necessary features I need to make it work? Is it dependent on the case, as well as the hardware? I want to be able to leave the computer on as a mini-server, yet conserve power when not in use. I want to use it as a print-file server, which is activated by LAN. Anyone clue me in? Thanks!

Here are my 2 setups for a mini-server (depending on which would work):
PII 350 MHz 128MB Ram
Acorp 6VIA81p MOtherboard
3.5 GB Fujitsu HD
3Com 3C905xx 10/100 NIC

PII 266 MHz 64 MB Ram
OEM LX chipset Motherboard
3.5 GB Fujitsu HD
3Com 3C905xx 10/100 NIC

It's likely that a) your mobo doesn't support standby, or b) something you have plugged in doesn't support standby.

if the bios supports standby, doesn't that mean the MB does? what devices could affect this?
