Sorry i steped away from the comp for a few, ehhh i have a laptop with wifi in it, im connected to a wireless network, and i have to get a printer soon so i was just wondering how i could go about to float around the house and just press print, having a printer in my room hooked up where i could print to. it looks as though the wireless print server is best bet?

if you don't want to buy extra equipment, you can connect the printer to your desktop and make sure the desktop is on whenever you want to print.

If not opting to connect to another machine on the network, yes.

Wireless print servers are relatively inexpensive, and would allow for standalone usage. If you have an alternate machine running most of the time (a file server, for example), refer to iamme's post.

If i hook the print server up to a printer, could i connect to it by wifi from anyone computer, not just the laptop?

-I've tried connecting to a printer through a desktops (sharing it ) and it just continuosly took wayyy to long to print for me. I hope a print server is more effective than that was...

of course, any computer on your network should be able to print on it. google it, there are some simple tutorials on cnet.com and about.com.
