How can I set up my computer to listen to me?

I believe you need a retail Soundblaster live (not value, one that includes a mic and special software)

Then you can customize your sounds for hotkey commands (IE clapping will make WMP play, going "blahblah" will make it stop)

Doesnt anyone talk to thier computer? I am primarily interested in talking instead of typing in word. Someone told me you could do this well today?
