How can i set a password for somone using a program on an admin acct?

If you don't want certain people to use firefox, why not just create a user account that does not have access to firefox. Regardless of the fact that you should never use an admin account (I'm assuming root) for regular activities that does not require it, if the user has root access, there is nothing you can do to lock them out of something.

Well, that is pretty standard advice. "Don't log on as admin" has been repeated here as much as anything. So do you mean you like for it to log in automatically? You can set it to do that with a User account.

If you did use a Restricted User account, then you could restrict the NTFS permissions on the Firefox program files so only an administrator can read and execute them. Then assign a password to the admin account and when you want to run firefox, hold the shift key and right click on the shortcut and IIRC you should get an option to Run As... Put in the admin username and password and there ya go.

Even better.... create another user account that is passworded and give that user account read and execute to the firefox program files. Then use Run As and put in that user instead of admin.
