How can I run two separate instances of IE6?

So I surf to SITE A, which has many different applications. When I click on APPLICATION 1, it opens in a new window, WINDOW B. When I click on APPLICATION 2, it opens in WINDOW B, replacing my view of APPLICATION 1.

I want to get APPLICATION 1 and APPLICATION 2 open in separate windows at the same time. Using a right-click and "open in a new window" gives me a Javascript error.

Is there a way I can run two separate instances of IE so the same window is not reused?

I've tried opening it the site in IE and Firefox, but the site refuses to load because Firefox is not supported. Is there an add-in that can emulate IE perfectly?

Your problem is that you may be starting with single instance of IE6 up front.

When the application is opened in a Window, it "inherits" the parent instance.

Try to open up a second copy of IE6, navigate to the site using the second instance and then launch application #2.

IE opens a new instance by default when you use the start menu or desktop icon to start the program.

Never had a problem opening separate iterations of IE, 6 or 7, Vista or XP. In fact, I just tried 3 iterations of IE7 in Vista. IE6 was the same in XP.

I used to do this in IE6 in order to get around no tabs.

Just keep re-hitting your desktop icon. It gives a new iteration in a new window.
