How can I run my laptop audio through my stock car stereo?

There is no stereo input. It's a new car and there is no option for swapping out the stereo. Don't they have those things where you can hook it up to a transmitter and tune the stereo to a certain channel? Anyone know?

You could get a tape adapter gadget (car kit thing)..assuming you have a tape deck, anyways.

Yeup, the tape adapter will work or
there's a radio transmitter( i think that's what it's called)

You plug one end to ur laptop output.. and u have to set ur radio station to a specific station.. one of ur stations'll be used for ur incoming music.

Look into the iRock system.. its about 20 bucks.. its a transmitter that transmits on FM.. but form what I heard its quiet weak (but its a worth a try) to see if it works.

If not you can building your own FM transmitter from a few parts from radio shack and a bread board.. you can make it as powerful as you want and you can permernently wire it up to your car if needed.

I've always wondered how degraded the quality of the music would get by using one of those FM adapters.

1. why is it not an option to swap out decks?
2. tape adapters will sound like a swarm of flies are in the background of your music
3. FM modulators work well if you get a good one

I have one of the fm modulator things and it sounds very good. I hook my cd player to my truck using it.

Maybe he meant that installing a new stereo just isn't an option?

I have one of those. Haven't tested though. It's for the mp3 player that has been suspended due to lack of funds.

Edit: I used it with my PDA and my bookshelf stereo. It brought Turjah to life!

In case anyone is interested, I was able to buy the iRock 300W from the local Radio Shack store for $29.95. It works great and appears to be well built. I was able to plug it into my Pocket PC and place both in the cup holder where it did its thing! :)

I'm sure Scoche or Metra will make a dash kit that will allow you to use a DIN or double DIN head unit.

you can still put an aftermarket in there if you want to...its just a kit and maybe a rewire...me being a hack it might take me an hour to do it...local shop should do it twice as fast....get a good aftermarket with av ins or get an fm modulator
